أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَكَّةَ وَحَوْلَ الْبَيْتِ ثَلَاثُمِائَةٍ وَسِتُّونَ صَنَمًا فَجَعَلَ يَطْعَنُ بِعُودٍ فِي يَدِهِ وَيَقُولُ {جَاءَ الْحَقَّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا} [الإسراء 81] وَ {جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَمَا يُبْدِئُ الْبَاطِلُ وَمَا يُعِيدُ} [سبأ 49]

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Makkah while around the House there were three hundred and sixty idols. He began piercing them with a stick in his hand, saying: {Truth has come and falsehood has vanished; indeed falsehood is ever vanishing} [al-Isra: 81] and {Truth has come and falsehood neither originates nor repeats} [Saba: 49].
