أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمَّا مَرَّ بِالْحِجْرِ قَالَ «لَا تَدْخُلُوا مَسَاكِنَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونُوا بَاكِينَ أَنْ يُصِيبَكُمْ مِثْلُ مَا أَصَابَهُمْ» وَتَقَنَّعَ بِرِدَائِهِ وَهُوَ عَلَى الرَّحْلِ

Translation

✧ That the Prophet ﷺ, when he passed by al-Ḥijr, said: “Do not enter the dwellings of those who wronged themselves unless you are weeping, lest there befall you the like of what befell them.” And he covered his face with his cloak while he was on his mount.
