أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ عَنْ فِطْرٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ وَحَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

حَدَّثَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ الصَّادِقُ الْمَصْدُوقُ إِنَّ خَلْقَ ابْنِ آدَمَ يُجْمَعُ فِي بَطْنِ أُمِّهِ لِأَرْبَعِينَ ثُمَّ يَكُونُ عَلَقَةً مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ يَكُونُ مُضْغَةً مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُ إِلَيْهِ مَلَكًا فَيَكْتُبُ أَرْبَعًا أَجَلَهُ وَعَمَلَهُ وَرِزْقَهُ وَشَقِيًّا أَمْ سَعِيدًا

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ, and he is the truthful, the believed, narrated to us: The creation of the son of Adam is gathered in his mother's womb for forty days, then he becomes a clot for a similar period, then he becomes a lump of flesh for a similar period, then God sends an angel to him who writes four things: his term, his deeds, his provision, and whether he is wretched or blessed.
