أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنِ الْمُحَرَّرِ بْنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
كُنْتُ مَعَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ حِينَ بَعَثَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ بِبَرَاءَةٍ قَالَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تُنَادُونَ؟ قَالَ كُنَّا نُنَادِي أَنَّهُ «لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا نَفْسٌ مُؤْمِنَةٌ وَلَا يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ عُرْيَانٌ وَمَنْ كَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَهْدٌ فَأَجَلُهُ وَأَمَدُهُ إِلَى أَرْبَعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ فَإِذَا مَضَتِ الْأَرْبَعَةُ الْأَشْهُرُ فَإِنَّ اللهَ بَرِيءٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَرَسُولُهُ وَلَا يَحُجُّ بَعْدَ الْعَامِ مُشْرِكٌ وَكُنْتُ أُنَادِي حَتَّى صَحِلَ صَوْتِي»

✧ I was with 'Ali b. Abi Talib when the Messenger of God ﷺ sent him to the people of Makkah with Bara'ah. He said, "What were you calling out?" He said, "We were calling out: 'No one will enter Paradise except a believing soul, and no one will circumambulate the House naked. Whoever has a treaty between him and the Messenger of God ﷺ, its term and duration is up to four months. When the four months have passed, then God is free from the polytheists, and His Messenger. And no polytheist will perform Hajj after this year.' I kept calling out until my voice became hoarse."
