أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ اللهُ تَعَالَى إِذَا هَمَّ عَبْدِي بِحَسَنَةٍ فَاكْتُبُوهَا لَهُ فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا فَاكْتُبُوهَا بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا وَإِذَا هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَا تَكْتُبُوهَا فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا فَاكْتُبُوهَا وَاحِدَةً وَإِنْ تَرَكَهَا فَاكْتُبُوهَا حَسَنَةً

Translation

✧ From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: Allah, exalted is He, said: “When My servant intends a good deed, write it for him; if he does it, write it as ten like it. When he intends an evil deed, do not write it; if he does it, write it as one; and if he leaves it, write it as a good deed.”
