أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُقَدَّمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ هِشَامَ بْنَ عُرْوَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ

نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ فِي النَّجَاشِيِّ وَأَصْحَابِهِ {وَإِذَا سَمِعُوا مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ تَرَى أَعْيُنَهُمْ تَفِيضُ مِنَ الدَّمْعِ} [المائدة 83]

Translation

✧ This verse was revealed concerning the Negus and his companions: {And when they hear what has been revealed to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflowing with tears} [al-Māʾidah 83].
