أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ لِي هَلْ تَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ الْمَائِدَةِ؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَتْ

«أَمَا إِنَّهَا» آخِرُ سُورَةٍ نَزَلَتْ فَمَا وَجَدْتُمْ فِيهَا مِنْ حَلَالٍ فَاسْتَحِلُّوهُ وَمَا وَجَدْتُمْ فِيهَا مِنْ حَرَامٍ فَحَرِّمُوهُ وَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ خُلِقِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتِ الْقُرْآنُ

Translation

  3. Muʿāwiyah b. Ṣāliḥ
  4. Abū al-Zāhiriyyah
  5. Jubayr b. Nufayr

✧ 'Indeed it' is the last Surah revealed. Whatever you find in it of lawful, deem it lawful, and whatever you find in it of unlawful, deem it unlawful.' I asked her about the character of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said, 'The Qur'an.'
