Sūrat al-Nisāʾ

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْيَعْمُرِيِّ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ خَطَبَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَقَالَ
إِنِّي لَا أَدَعُ شَيْئًا بَعْدِي أَهَمَّ إِلَيَّ مِنَ الْكَلَالَةِ وَلَا أَغْلَظَ لِي فِي شَيْءٍ مُذْ يَعْنِي صَحِبْتُهُ مَا أَغْلَظَ لِي فِي الْكَلَالَةِ حَتَّى طَعَنَ بِأُصْبُعِهِ فِي صَدْرِي وَقَالَ «يَا عُمَرُ إِنَّمَا يَكْفِيكَ آيَةُ الصَّيْفِ الَّتِي فِي سُورَةِ النِّسَاءِ وَإِنِّي إِنْ أَعِشْ أَقْضِ فِيهَا بِقَضِيَّةٍ يَقْضِي بِهَا مَنْ يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ وَمَنْ لَا يَقْرَأُ» مُخْتَصَرٌ
Translation

✧ Indeed I will not leave after me anything more important to me than kalalah, and he was never harsher with me about anything since he (meaning since I accompanied him) than he was about kalalah, until he poked his finger in my chest and said, 'O 'Umar, the verse of summer that is in Surat al-Nisa' is sufficient for you. If I live, I will decide it with a judgment that those who recite the Qur'an and those who do not will judge by.' Abridged.
