أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ لِلشَّيْطَانِ لِمَّةً وَلِلْمَلَكِ لِمَّةً فَأَمَّا لِمَّةُ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِيعَادٌ بِالشَّرِّ وَتَكْذِيبٌ بِالْحَقِّ وَأَمَّا لِمَّةُ الْمَلَكِ فَإِيعَادٌ بِالْخَيْرِ وَتَصْدِيقٌ بِالْحَقِّ فَمَنْ وَجَدَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ مِنَ اللهِ فَلْيَحْمَدِ اللهَ وَمَنْ وَجَدَ مِنَ الْآخَرِ فَلْيَتَعَوَّذْ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {الشَّيْطَانُ يَعِدُكُمُ الْفَقْرَ وَيَأْمُرُكُمْ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ وَاللهُ يَعِدُكُمْ مَغْفِرَةً مِنْهُ وَفَضْلًا} [البقرة 268]

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The devil has a touch and the angel has a touch. As for the devil's touch, it is a promise of evil and denial of the truth. As for the angel's touch, it is a promise of good and affirmation of the truth. Whoever experiences the latter, let him know that it is from Allah and praise Allah. Whoever experiences the former, let him seek refuge from the devil. Then he recited: {The devil promises you poverty and commands you to indecency, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty} [al-Baqarah: 268].
