أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ حَدَّثَنَا أُمَيَّةُ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ

عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ كَانَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ إِذَا حَجَّتْ لَمْ تَدْخُلْ مِنْ أَبْوَابِهَا وَدَخَلَتْ مِنْ ظُهُورِهَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى {وَلَيْسَ الْبِرُّ بِأَنْ تَأْتُوا الْبُيُوتَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهَا} [البقرة 189]

✧ From al-Bara': The Ansar, when they performed Hajj, would not enter their houses from their doors but would enter from their backs; so God, blessed and exalted, revealed {It is not righteousness that you enter houses from their backs} [al-Baqarah: 189].
