أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ آدَمَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَجِيءُ النَّبِيُّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَعَهُ الرَّجُلُ وَيَجِيءُ النَّبِيُّ مَعَهُ الرَّجُلَانِ وَيَجِيءُ النَّبِيُّ مَعَهُ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ هَلْ بَلَّغْتَ قَوْمَكَ؟ فَيَقُولُ نَعَمْ فَيُدْعَوْنَ فَيُقَالُ هَلْ بَلَّغَكُمْ؟ فَيَقُولُونَ لَا فَيُقَالُ مَنْ يَشْهَدُ لَكَ؟ فَيَقُولُ أُمَّةُ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ فَتُدْعَى أُمَّةُ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ فَيُقَالُ هَلْ بَلَّغَ هَذَا؟ فَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ فَيُقَالُ وَمَا عِلْمُكُمْ بِذَلِكَ؟ فَيَقُولُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا نَبِيُّنَا ﷺ أَنَّ الرُّسُلَ قَدْ بَلَّغُوا فَصَدَّقْنَاهُ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ {وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا} [البقرة 143] قَالَ «عَدْلًا لِتَكُونُوا شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: A prophet will come on the Day of Resurrection with one man, a prophet will come with two men, and a prophet will come with more than that. It will be said to him, 'Did you convey to your people?' He will say, 'Yes.' They will be called and asked, 'Did he convey to you?' They will say, 'No.' It will be said, 'Who will testify for you?' He will say, 'The nation of Muhammad ﷺ.' The nation of Muhammad ﷺ will be called and asked, 'Did this one convey?' They will say, 'Yes.' It will be said, 'How do you know that?' They will say, 'Our Prophet ﷺ informed us that the messengers had conveyed, and we believed him.' That is His saying: {And thus We have made you a middle nation} [al-Baqarah: 143] - he said, 'Just' - {so that you will be witnesses over the people}.
