أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ ؓ قَالَ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَوِ اتَّخَذْتَ مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى {وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى} [البقرة 125]

Translation

✧ I said: O Messenger of Allah, if only you would take the Station of Ibrahim as a place of prayer. Then Allah, blessed and exalted, sent down: {And take the Station of Ibrahim as a place of prayer} [al-Baqarah: 125].
