أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا أَذِنَ اللهُ لِشَيْءٍ إِذْنَهُ لِنَبِيٍّ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِذْنَهُ لَمْ أَفْهَمْهُ كَمَا أَرَدْتُ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said: "Allah does not listen so attentively to anything as He does to a prophet reciting the Quran melodiously." Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: His listening — I did not understand it as I wanted.
