✧ What Jibril Used to Seek Refuge for the Prophet ﷺ

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ ثُوَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ كَلِمَةً مَعْنَاهَا يَعُودُنِي فَقَالَ «أَلَا أَرْقِيكَ بِرُقْيَةٍ رَقَانِي بِهَا جِبْرِيلُ؟» قُلْتُ بَلَى بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي قَالَ «بِسْمِ اللهِ أَرْقِيكَ وَاللهُ يَشْفِيكَ مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ فِيكَ مِنْ شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ came—then he mentioned a word meaning “to visit me”—and said, 'Shall I not perform ruqyah for you with a ruqyah with which Jibril performed ruqyah for me?' I said, 'Yes, may my father and mother be your ransom.' He said, 'In the name of Allah I perform ruqyah for you, and Allah heals you from every disease in you, from the evil of the blowers on knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies.'
