أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ التَّلِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَوَانَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اسْتَرَاثَ الْخَبَرَ تَمَثَّلَ بِبَيْتِ طَرَفَةَ وَيَأْتِيكَ بِالْأَخْبَارِ مَنْ لَمْ تُزَوِّدِ
Translation

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was slow to receive news, he would quote the verse of Tarafah: 'And there will come to you with news one whom you did not equip.'
