أَخْبَرَنِي مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ قَالَ
كُنْتُ أَبِيتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ آتِيهِ بِوَضُوئِهِ وَبِحَاجَتِهِ فَكَانَ يَقُومُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَيَقُولُ «سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّي وَبِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّي وَبِحَمْدِهِ» ثُمَّ يَقُولُ «سُبْحَانَ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ»

✧ I used to spend the night with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, bringing him his water for ablution and his needs. He would get up at night and say: 'Glory be to Allah and with His praise. Glory be to my Lord and with His praise. Glory be to my Lord and with His praise.' Then he would say: 'Glory be to the Lord of the worlds. Glory be to the Lord of the worlds.'
