✧ What to say when he wants to ferment his utensils, close his door, and turn off his lamp

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا يَقُولُ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَغْلِقُوا أَبْوَابَكُمْ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللهِ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَفْتَحُ مُغْلَقًا وَأَوْكُوا قِرَبَكُمْ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللهِ وَخَمِّرُوا آنِيَتَكُمْ وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللهِ وَلَوْ أَنْ تَعْرِضُوا عَلَيْهَا شَيْئًا وَأَطْفِئُوا الْمَصَابِيحَ» [275] قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وَأَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا يُخْبِرُ نَحْوَ مَا أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لَا يَقُولُ «اذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللهِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Close your doors and mention the name of Allah, for Satan does not open a closed door; tie your waterskins and mention the name of Allah; cover your vessels and mention the name of Allah, even if you place something over them; and extinguish the lamps." [275] Ibn Jurayj said: 'Amr b. Dinar informed me that he heard Jabir report similar to what 'Ata' informed me, except that he did not say, 'mention the name of Allah.'
