✧ How does a woman wipe her head?

أَخْبَرَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ جُعَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ أَبِي ذُبَابٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ سَالِمٌ يَعْنِي سَبَلَانَ قَالَ

وَكَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ تَسْتَعْجِبُ بِأَمَانَتِهِ وَتَسْتَأْجِرُهُ فَأَرَتْنِي كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ قَالَ «فَتَمَضْمَضَتْ وَاسْتَنْثَرَتْ ثَلَاثًا وَغَسَلَتْ وَجْهَهَا ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ غَسَلَتْ يَدَهَا الْيُمْنَى ثَلَاثًا وَالْيُسْرَى ثَلَاثًا وَوَضَعَتْ يَدَهَا فِي مُقَدَّمِ رَأْسِهَا ثُمَّ مَسَحَتْ رَأْسَهَا مَسْحَةً وَاحِدَةً إِلَى مُؤَخَّرِهِ ثُمَّ مَرَّتْ بِيَدَيْهَا بِأُذُنَيْهَا ثُمَّ مَرَّتْ عَلَى الْخَدَّيْنِ» قَالَ سَالِمٌ كُنْتُ آتِيَهَا مُكَاتِبًا فَتَجْلِسُ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ وَتَتَحَدَّثُ مَعِي حَتَّى جِئْتُهَا ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَقُلْتُ ادْعِي لِي بِالْبَرَكَةِ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَتْ وَمَا ذَاكَ قُلْتُ أَعْتَقَنِي اللهُ قَالَتْ بَارِكَ اللهُ لَكَ وَأَرْخَتِ الْحِجَابَ دُونِي فَلَمْ أَرَهَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ

✧ Aisha used to be impressed by his trustworthiness and would hire him. She showed me how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ablution. He said: “She rinsed her mouth and expelled water from her nose three times, washed her face three times, then washed her right hand three times and the left three times, placed her hand on the front of her head, then wiped her head once to the back, then passed her hands over her ears, then passed them over her cheeks.” Salim said: I used to visit her as a contracted slave, and she would sit before me and converse with me, until one day I came to her and said: “Pray for blessing for me, O Mother of the Believers.” She said: “What is that?” I said: “Allah has freed me.” She said: “May Allah bless you,” and she let down the veil between us, and I did not see her after that day.
