أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ وَمُعَاوِيَةُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِئْسَمَا لَأَحَدِهِمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "How bad it is for one of them to say, 'I forgot such-and-such a verse'; rather, he was made to forget."
