أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَجِدُ فِي نَفْسِي الشَّيْءَ لَأَنْ أَكُونَ حُمَمًا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ أَنْ أَتَكَلَّمَ بِهِ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «اللهُ أَكْبَرُ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي رَدَّ كَيْدَهُ إِلَى الْوَسْوَسَةِ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَا عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ أَحَدًا تَابَعَ إِسْحَاقَ عَلَى هَذِهِ الرِّوَايَةِ وَالصَّحِيحُ مَا رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ
Translation

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I find something within myself; to be a burnt cinder would be dearer to me than to speak of it." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah is greatest. Praise be to Allah who has turned his plot back into whisperings." Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: I do not know of anyone who followed Ishaq in this narration, and the correct version is what 'Abd al-Rahman narrated.
