أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ
أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِابْنِي جَعْفَرٍ أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكُمَا حَدِيثًا مَا أُحَدِّثُهُ الْحَسَنَ وَلَا الْحُسَيْنَ إِذَا سَأَلْتُمَا اللهَ حَاجَةً فَأَرَدْتُمَا أَنْ تَنْجَحَا فَقُولَا «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ»

✧ He said to the two sons of Jafar: Shall I not tell you a hadith I have not told Hasan or Husayn? If you ask Allah for a need and want it to succeed, say: There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, the Forbearing, the Generous. There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, the Most High, the Magnificent.
