أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَلِيلِ حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ
أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَا أَبَتِ أَسْمَعُكَ تَدْعُو كُلَّ غَدَاةٍ «اللهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَدَنِي اللهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي سَمْعِي اللهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَصَرِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ» تُعِيدُهَا ثَلَاثًا حِينَ تُصْبِحُ وَثَلَاثًا حِينَ تُمْسِي وَتَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ» تُعِيدُهَا ثَلَاثًا حِينَ تُصْبِحُ وَثَلَاثًا حِينَ تُمْسِي؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ يَا بُنَيَّ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَدْعُو بِهِنَّ فَأُحِبُّ أَنِ أَسْتَنَّ بِسُنَّتِهِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ لَيْسَ بِالْقَوِيِّ
Translation

✧ He said to his father: “O father, I hear you supplicate every morning: ‘O Allah, grant me well-being in my body. O Allah, grant me well-being in my hearing. O Allah, grant me well-being in my sight. There is no god but You,’ repeating it three times when you enter the morning and three times when you enter the evening, and you say: ‘O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. There is no god but You,’ repeating it three times when you enter the morning and three times when you enter the evening.” He said: “Yes, my son, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ supplicating with them, and I love to follow his Sunnah.” Abu Abd al-Rahman said: “Jaʿfar b. Maymun is not strong.”
