أَخْبَرَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ وَدَاوُدَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحَانَكَ اللهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ فَقَالَهَا فِي مَجْلِسِ ذِكْرٍ كَانَتْ كَالطَّابَعِ يُطْبَعُ عَلَيْهِ وَمَنْ قَالَهَا فِي مَجْلِسِ لَغْوٍ كَانَتْ كَفَّارَتَهُ 10186 أَخْبَرَنِي زَكَرِيَّا عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ أَبِي حَرَّةَ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ يَرْفَعُهُ نَحْوَهُ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ وَحَدَّثَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْفَرَّاءُ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ مِثْلَهُ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever says: ‘Glory be to Allah and with His praise. Glory be to You, O Allah, and with Your praise. There is no god but You. I ask Your forgiveness and I repent to You’ and says it in a session of remembrance, it is like a seal stamped upon it. And whoever says it in a session of idle talk, it is an expiation for it.” 10186 Zakariyya informed me, from Ibn Abi ‘Umar: Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Ajlan, from Muslim b. Abi Harrah, from Nafi‘ b. Jubayr, raising it, similarly. Sufyan said: Dawud b. Qays al-Farra’ also narrated to me, from Nafi‘ b. Jubayr, the like of it.
