أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى الْبَاهِلِيُّ وَهُوَ ابْنُ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ كَرِيمِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ بِعَرَفَةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ اسْتَغْفَرْ لِي غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكَ قَالَ «غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكُمْ» فَاسْتَدَرْتُ إِلَى الْجَانِبِ الْآخَرِ لِكَيْ يَخُصَّنِي بِشَيْءٍ دُونَ الْقَوْمِ فَقُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ اسْتَغْفِرْ لِي غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكَ قَالَ «غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكُمْ»

Translation

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was at ‘Arafah and said: O Prophet of Allah, ask forgiveness for me, may Allah forgive you. He said: “May Allah forgive you all.” I turned to the other side so that he might single me out with something apart from the people, and I said: O Prophet of Allah, ask forgiveness for me, may Allah forgive you. He said: “May Allah forgive you all.”
