أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عُمَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ

اسْتَبَّ رَجُلَانِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَغَضِبَ أَحَدُهُمَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً لَوْ قَالَهَا لَذَهَبَ غَيْظُهُ أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ [151] 10150 أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ مُعَاذٍ نَحْوَهُ 10151 أَخْبَرَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ نَحْوَهُ

✧ Two men insulted each other in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ, and one of them became angry. The Prophet ﷺ said, “I know a word which, if he said it, his anger would go away: Aʿūdhu billāhi min ash-shayṭān ar-rajīm (I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan).” [151] 10150 Ahmad b. Sulayman informed us; he said: Husayn narrated to us, from Za’idah, from ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿUmayr, from ʿAbd al-Rahman b. Abi Layla, from Muʿadh, similarly. 10151 Yusuf b. ʿIsa informed us; he said: al-Fadl b. Musa informed us; Yazid, meaning Ibn Ziyad, informed us, from ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿUmayr, from ʿAbd al-Rahman b. Abi Layla, from Ubayy b. Kaʿb, similarly.
