أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ دُحَيْمٌ عَنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ فِرَاسٍ عَنْ أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يُصْبِحُ بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ لَمْ يُصِبْهُ فِي يَوْمِهِ فَجْأَةُ بَلَاءٍ وَمَنْ قَالَهَا حِينَ يُمْسِي لَمْ يَعْنِي يُصِبْهُ فِي لَيْلَتِهِ فَجْأَةُ بَلَاءٍ

Translation

  4. Abān b. ʿUthmān from his father

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: Whoever says when he enters the morning: “In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing,” no sudden calamity will afflict him during his day; and whoever says it when he enters the evening, no sudden calamity will afflict him during his night.
