✧ The reward of peace

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ عَوْفٍ عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيِّ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَينٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «عَشْرٌ» ثُمَّ جَلَسَ ثُمَّ جَاءَ آخَرُ فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ «عِشْرُونَ» ثُمَّ جَلَسَ ثُمَّ جَاءَ آخَرُ فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ «ثَلَاثُونَ»

✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a man came and greeted, saying, "Peace be upon you." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ responded to him and said, "Ten." Then he sat down. Then another came and said, "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ responded to him and said, "Twenty." Then he sat down. Then another came and said, "Peace be upon you, the mercy of Allah, and His blessings." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ responded to him and said, "Thirty."
