أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ وَحُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ
يَا مُحَمَّدُ يَا سَيِّدَنَا وَابْنَ سَيِّدِنَا وَخَيْرَنَا وَابْنَ خَيْرِنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قُولُوا بِقَوْلِكُمْ وَلَا تَسْتَجْرِيَنَّكُمُ الشَّيَاطِينُ أَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ وَرَسُولُهُ وَمَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ تَرْفَعُونِي فَوْقَ مَنْزِلَتِي الَّتِي أَنْزَلَنِيهَا اللهُ»

✧ O Muhammad, O our master and son of our master, and the best of us and son of the best of us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O people, speak as you speak, but let not the devils incite you. I am Muhammad b. 'Abd Allah, the servant of Allah and His Messenger, and I do not like that you raise me above the station which Allah has given me.'
