The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a gold ring on a man’s hand, so he removed it and threw it aside, and said: “Would one of you take a live ember of fire and put it in his hand?” After the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had left, it was said to the man: Take your ring and benefit from it. He said: No, by Allah, I will never take it after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has thrown it aside.
