✧ The Two Eid Prayers

وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ فَرُّوخَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ:

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُكَبِّرُ مِنْ غَدَاةِ عَرَفَةَ إِلَى آخِرِ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ، وَكَانَ لَا يُكَبِّرُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ، وَكَانَ تَكْبِيرُهُ: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ، [اللهُ] أَكْبَرُ، أَوْ قَالَ: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ عَلَى مَا هَدَانَا

Translation

✧ He used to say the takbir from the morning of Arafah until the end of the days of Tashriq, and he would not say the takbir in the Maghrib prayer. His takbir was: Allahu akbar kabira, Allahu akbar kabira, Allahu akbar kabira, wal-hamdu lillah, [Allahu] akbar, or he said: Allahu akbar 'ala ma hadana.
