✧ The ruling on one who abandons prayer

أَخْبَرَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثَنَا إِيَادُ بْنُ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَا: سَمِعْتُ مَكْحُولًا، يَقُولُ

فِيمَنْ يَقُولُ: الصَّلَاةُ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللهِ تَعَالَى، وَلَا أُصَلِّيهَا، وَالزَّكَاةُ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللهِ وَلَا أُزَكِّيهَا، قَالَ: يُسْتَتَابُ، فَإِنْ تَابَ وَإِلَّا قُتِلَ

Translation

✧ Regarding one who says: 'The prayer is from Allah, the Exalted, and I will not pray it,' and 'The zakat is from Allah and I will not pay it,' he said: 'He is asked to repent. If he repents, [it is accepted]; otherwise, he is killed.'
