أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُتَوَكِّلِ: أَبُو أَيُّوبَ الْبَصْرِيُّ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ وَاضِحٍ أَبُو تُمَيْلَةَ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ:

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى: آمَنَ الرَّسُولُ حَتَّى يَخْتِمَهَا، وَفِي الثَّانِيَةِ مِنْ آلِ عِمْرَانَ: قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ تَعَالَوْا إِلَى كَلِمَةٍ سَوَاءٍ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ، الْآيَةَ.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the two rak'ahs of Fajr: in the first rak'ah, “The Messenger has believed” until he completed it, and in the second, from Al 'Imran: “Say, O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you,” the verse.
