حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَوْنٍ الْخَرَّازُ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، عَنْ مِسْعَرِ بْنِ كِدَامٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ؓ قَالَ:
قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى تَوَرَّمَتْ قَدَمَاهُ أَوْ سَاقُهُ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: أَلَيْسَ قَدْ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكَ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ، وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ ؟، فَقَالَ ﷺ: أَفَلَا أَكُونُ عَبْدًا شَكُورًا
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood in prayer until his feet or his legs became swollen. It was said to him: "Has not Allah forgiven you your past and future sins?" He ﷺ replied: "Should I not be a grateful servant?"
