✧ The Portents and Signs of the Hour

قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ، ثَنَا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ، ثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هَانِئٍ، عَنْ شُفَيٍّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ؓ، قَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، قَالَ:

لَيَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ، قُلُوبُهُمْ قُلُوبُ الْأَعَاجِمِ، قِيلَ: وَمَا قُلُوبُ الْأَعَاجِمِ ؟ قَالَ: حُبُّ الدُّنْيَا، سُنَّتُهُمْ سُنَّةُ الْأَعْرَابِ، مَا آتَاهُمُ اللهُ مِنْ رِزْقٍ جَعَلُوهُ فِي الْحَيَوَانِ، يَرَوْنَ الْجِهَادَ ضِرَارًا، وَالصَّدَقَةَ مَغْرَمًا

✧ There will surely come upon the people a time when their hearts are the hearts of non-Arabs. It was said: And what are the hearts of non-Arabs? He said: Love of this world. Their way is the way of the Bedouins: whatever provision Allah gives them, they put it into livestock. They regard jihad as harm and charity as a fine.
