✧ Ibn ʿUmar ؓ wore armor on the day of the house, the house of ʿUthmān ؓ, twice. He entered upon him and said: 'I accompanied the Messenger of God ﷺ, and I knew his right of prophethood and right of authority. I accompanied Abū Bakr ؓ, and I knew his right of authority. Then I accompanied ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb ؓ, and I knew his right of authority and his right as a father. And I know the same for you.' He ؓ replied: 'May God reward you well, O family of ʿUmar. Stay in your house until my affair comes to you.'
