وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أُمِّ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَتْ: قَالَتْ أُمُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ ؓ:

مَا نَسِيتُ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ وَهُوَ يُعَاطِيهِمُ اللَّبَنَ، وَقَدِ اغْبَرَّ شَعَرُهُ - يَعْنِي: النَّبِيَّ ﷺ - وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ الْخَيْرَ خَيْرُ الْآخِرَهْ فَاغْفِرْ لِلْأَنْصَارِ وَالْمُهَاجِرَهْ.

✧ I have not forgotten the day of the trench while he was handing them the milk, and his hair was dusty - meaning the Prophet ﷺ - and he was saying: 'Indeed the good is the good of the Hereafter, so forgive the Ansar and the Muhajirun.'
