al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 468

✧ On the virtue of remaining in the mosque

حَدَّثَنَا الْمُقْرِئُ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ - هُوَ ابْنُ يَزِيدَ الْحُبُلِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ؓ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

« سِتُّ مَجَالِسَ مَا كَانَ الْمُسْلِمُ فِي مَجْلِسٍ مِنْهَا إِلَّا كَانَ ضَامِنًا عَلَى اللهِ تَعَالَى: فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، أَوْ مَسْجِدِ جَمَاعَةٍ، أَوْ عِنْدَ مَرِيضٍ، أَوْ يَتْبَعُ جِنَازَةً، أَوْ فِي بَيْتِهِ، أَوْ عِنْدَ إِمَامٍ مُقْسِطٍ يُعَزِّرُهُ وَيُوَقِّرُهُ

✧ There are six gatherings in which a Muslim is not present except that he is under the protection of Allah, Exalted is He: in the path of Allah, Mighty and Majestic; in a congregational mosque; with a sick person; following a funeral procession; in his own home; or with a just ruler, honoring and respecting him.
