al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 460

✧ On the virtue of remaining in the mosque

وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، ثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِلْحَسَنِ - أَوْ قِيلَ لَهُ -:

أَرَأَيْتَ قَوْلَهُ: « إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَا يَزَالُ فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا دَامَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ »، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: مَقْعَدُهُ الَّذِي يُصَلِّي فِيهِ ؟ قَالَ: ( بَلِ الْمَسْجِدُ كُلُّهُ

Translation

✧ Do you not see His saying: 'The servant does not cease to be in prayer as long as he is in his prayer place.' He said: I said, 'His sitting place where he prays?' He said: 'Rather, the entire mosque.'
