al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 4586

✧ His ﷺ Informing that Persia Would Perish and Byzantium Would Remain, and So It Was

قَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْفَزَارِيُّ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ابْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنِ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

فَارِسُ نَطْحَةٌ أَوْ نَطْحَتَانِ، ثُمَّ لَا فَارِسَ بَعْدَ هَذَا أَبَدًا، وَالرُّومُ ذَاتُ الْقُرُونِ، كُلَّمَا هَلَكَ قَرْنٌ خَلَفَهُ قَرْنٌ، أَهْلُ صَبْرٍ، وَأَهْلُ ( بَحْرٍ )، هَيْهَاتَ لِآخِرِ الدَّهْرِ، هُمْ أَصْحَابُكُمْ، مَا دَامَ فِي الْعَيْشِ خَيْرٌ

✧ Persia will face a blow or two blows, then there will be no Persia after this ever. Byzantium has horns; every time one horn perishes, another horn succeeds it. They are people of patience and people of the sea. Far from it, until the end of time, they are your companions as long as there is any good in life.
