حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، ثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، فِي تَفْسِيرِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ:

وَوَجَدَ عِنْدَهَا قَوْمًا - قَالَ: مَدِينَةٌ لَهَا اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَلْفَ بَابٍ، لَوْلَا أَصْوَاتُ أَهْلِهَا لَسَمِعَ النَّاسُ دَوِيَّ الشَّمْسِ حِينَ تَجِبُ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Isḥāq b. Abū Isrāʾīl
  2. Hishām b. Yūsuf Fī Tafsīr Ibn Jurayj

✧ And he found beside them a people – he said: A city with twelve thousand gates. Were it not for the voices of its inhabitants, people would hear the roar of the sun when it sets.
