وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، ثَنَا نُصَيْرُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الطَّائِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي الصَّلْتُ، عَنْ حَامِيَةَ بْنِ رِقَابٍ قَالَ:
سَأَلْتُ سَلْمَانَ ؓ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ، ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ مِنْهُمْ قِسِّيسِينَ وَرُهْبَانًا فَقَالَ: دَعِ الْقِسِّيسِينَ فِي الصَّوَامِعِ وَالْخِرَبِ، أَقْرَأَنِيهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ مِنْهُمْ صِدِّيقِينَ وَرُهْبَانًا
Translation

✧ I asked Salman ؓ about this verse: 'That is because among them are qissisun (priests) and ruhban (monks).' He said: 'Leave the qissisun in the monasteries and ruins. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me to recite it: "That is because among them are siddiqun (truthful ones) and ruhban."'
