قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرِ [ ابْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ]: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ شُرَيْحٍ
أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَائِشَةَ ؓ: أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْحَصِيرِ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَجَعَلْنَا جَهَنَّمَ لِلْكَافِرِينَ حَصِيرًا ؟ قَالَتْ [ عَائِشَةُ ] ؓ: لَا، لَمْ يَكُنْ [رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ] يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ.

✧ He asked 'A'isha ؓ: Did the Messenger of God ﷺ pray on a straw mat? For I heard in the Book of God, Mighty and Majestic: "And We have made Hell a mat for the disbelievers"? 'A'isha ؓ said: No, the Messenger of God ﷺ did not pray on it.
