وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى، ثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَنْتَرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
دَخَلْنَا عَلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ: « ذِكْرُ اللهِ، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ. ثُمَّ قَالَ: مَا جَلَسَ قَوْمٌ فِي بَيْتٍ مِنْ بُيُوتِ اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يَتَدَارَسُونَ كِتَابَ اللهِ تَعَالَى، وَيَتَعَاطَوْنَهُ بَيْنَهُمْ، إِلَّا أَظَلَّتْهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ بِأَجْنِحَتِهَا، وَإِلَّا كَانُوا أَضْيَافَ اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى حَتَّى يَقُومُوا
Translation

✧ We entered upon Ibn ʿAbbās ؓ, and a man said to him: “Which deed is best?” He said: “Remembrance of God; God is Greater,” three times. Then he said: “No people sit in a house among the houses of God, Blessed and Exalted, studying the Book of God Almighty and passing it around among themselves, except that the angels shade them with their wings and they are the guests of God, Blessed and Exalted, until they rise.”
