✧ The Amount of Water Sufficient for Wudu and Ghusl

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ، ثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ، عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ قَالَتْ:
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ؓ فَقُلْتُ: أَرِينِي - فَذَكَرَهُ، وَفِيهِ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ فِي إِنَاءِ الْغُسْلِ: هَذَا مَخْتُومٌ، يَعْنِي الصَّاعَ، وَقَالَتْ فِي إِنَاءِ الْوُضُوءِ: هَذَا رُبُعُ الْمُفْتِي
Translation

✧ I entered upon Umm Salamah ؓ and said: “Show me—” and he mentioned it, and in it she said regarding the ghusl vessel: “This is a makhtūm,” meaning the ṣāʿ, and she said regarding the ablution vessel: “This is a quarter of the muftī.”
