✧ The Virtue of Suppressing Anger

قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ: أَنَا الْمُقْرِئُ، ثَنَا نُوحُ بْنُ جَعْوَنَةَ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ وَفِيهِ:

« وَمَا مِنْ جَرْعَةٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللهِ مِنْ جَرْعَةِ غَيْظٍ كَظَمَهَا عَبْدٌ لِلهِ، مَا كَظَمَهَا عَبْدٌ لِلهِ إِلَّا مَلَأَ اللهُ جَوْفَهُ إِيمَانًا

Translation

✧ «And there is no gulp more beloved to Allah than a gulp of anger that a servant suppresses for the sake of Allah. No servant suppresses it for the sake of Allah except that Allah fills his interior with faith»
