قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي أُسَامَةَ: أَحَدَّثَكُمْ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ؓ قَالَ:
قِيلَ لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ: مَا لَكَ تَرَكْتَ مُجَاوَرَةَ قَبْرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَجَاوَرْتَ الْمَقَابِرَ يَعْنِي الْبَقِيعَ ؟ فَقَالَ: وَجَدْتُهُمْ جِيرَانَ صِدْقٍ، يُكَفِّرُونَ السَّيِّئَةَ وَيُذَكِّرُونَ الْآخِرَةَ ؟
Translation

✧ It was said to ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib ؓ: “What made you leave the vicinity of the grave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and dwell among the graves, meaning al-Baqīʿ?” He replied: “I found them to be truthful neighbors, expiating sins and reminding of the Hereafter.”
