✧ What Has Come Concerning Storytellers and Exhorters

وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ:
لَمَّا مَرِضَ سَلْمَانُ ؓ مَرَضَهُ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ، أَتَاهُ سَعْدٌ ؓ يَعُودُهُ وَهُوَ أَمِيرُ الْكُوفَةِ، فَجَعَلَ سَلْمَانُ ؓ يَبْكِي، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَأَمَّا أَنْتَ أَيُّهَا الرَّجُلُ فَاتَّقِ اللهَ تَعَالَى عِنْدَ هَمِّكَ إِذَا هَمَمْتَ، وَعِنْدَ يَدِكَ إِذَا قَسَّمْتَ، وَعِنْدَ لِسَانِكَ إِذَا حَكَمْتَ
Translation

✧ When Salman ؓ fell ill with the illness in which he died, Sa'd ؓ came to visit him while he was governor of Kufa. Salman ؓ began to weep, and he mentioned the hadith, then said: As for you, O man, fear God Almighty in your intention when you intend, in your hand when you distribute, and in your tongue when you judge.
