✧ Hadith clarifying the general verses of the Qur'an

وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

عَسَى أَنْ يُكَذِّبَنِي رَجُلٌ وَهُوَ مُتَّكِئٌ عَلَى أَرِيكَتِهِ يَبْلُغُهُ الْحَدِيثُ عَنِّي فَيَقُولُ: مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ دَعْ هَذَا وَهَاتِ مَا فِي الْقُرْآنِ

✧ Perhaps a man will belie me while he is reclining on his couch, and the hadith from me reaches him, and he says: “What did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say? Leave this and bring what is in the Qur'an.”
