قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ جَابِرٍ الضَّبِّيُّ، عَنْ مُجَمِّعِ بْنِ عَتَّابِ بْنِ شُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ؓ قَالَ:

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ لِي أَبًا شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا، وَإِخْوَةً، فَأَذْهَبُ إِلَيْهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ أَنْ يُسْلِمُوا، فَآتِيَكَ بِهِمْ، قَالَ ﷺ: إِنْ هُمْ أَسْلَمُوا، فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ، وَإِنْ أَبَوْا، فَالْإِسْلَامُ وَاسِعٌ عَرِيضٌ

Translation

✧ I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have an aged father and brothers, so I go to them that perhaps they may become Muslim, and I bring them to you.' He ﷺ said: 'If they become Muslim, it is better for them. And if they refuse, Islam is vast and wide.'
