قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:

كَانَتْ أُمُّ أَيْمَنَ جَارِيَةً لِأُمِّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَلَدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَكَانَتْ إِذَا دَخَلَتْ قَالَتْ: سَلَامٌ لَا عَلَيْكُمْ، فَرَخَّصَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، أَنْ تَقُولَ: السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ

Translation

Chain of narrators

✧ Umm Ayman was a slave woman belonging to Umm Ibrahim, the son of the Prophet ﷺ. Whenever she entered, she would say, 'Greetings, not upon you.' The Prophet ﷺ gave her permission to say, 'Peace be upon you.'
